HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop, 15.6

I just got my HP Envy x360 2-in-1 15.6 laptop in the mail today. After the initial setup and playing around with the computer, it requested a restart. The screen has the HP symbol with the message Please wait while we install a system update. It has been on this screen for 1 hour and 15 mins and the keyboard light has been on non stop since. What do I do, do I do a hard reset or do I wait it out?

Sorry for the situation, but if you power off the PC before the update is done, you will then crash it into an unrecoverable state which would most likely require a complete factory reset to restore it, and then you would be in this same situation again.

I would return it for a refund as you should not be having this kind of issue with a new PC.
