Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Really annoying. Wanted to get rid of EDGE and set chrome as default browser. ALL SUPPORT ON WEB gives instructions to get into windows "exchange default browser"and press on CHROME choice. But on this NEW laptop CHROME IS NOT THERE AS A CHOICE!!!! Finally got solution from BANHIEN on HP community. Downloaded Chrome from his hypertext link. Then Chrome appears like magic in the choice of default browser. Finally a result. I think this will be a common problem on new laptops? Can I suggest the solution is given some prominence on HP COMMUNITY if possible!

By the way EDGE still comes up  as the search box on start up but there is a nice CHROME icon on the screen to click onto this much better browser.S   still got a problem but at least there's an easy work round. anyone know how to do the final part and get Chrome ON START UP?

@grouchob

If you're running the NEW Edge browser, you do know you're actually running Chromium right?  Microsoft gave up on the Edge browser recently and licensed their new browser from Google.

I actually like "Edgeium" a lot better than the OLD Edge and use it now as my primary browser.
