I recently purchased my computer and from the moment I turned it on there was one major issue. It can't run basic programs at an acceptable speed. The first thing I did when I turned the computer on was open edge so I could download chrome (my preffered browser) and edge froze for a few seconds before opening even the starting page, then every page I tried to open took far longer than it should to open. Clicking links often takes a few seconds for anything to happen, opening programs, doing things within programs that on my previous computer were instantaneous (extremely minor processes) take up to 10 seconds to load, interfering with my ability to use this computer for quite literally anything. Oddly, I can run games without much issue, but if I try to run basic programs that require very little memory they freeze. I was advised I may need to allocate more RAM but I'm not sure how to do that or even if its possible to generally allocate RAM to everything. I would rather not have to return the computer because I cant afford to be without a computer for any period of time at risk of falling behind in work and school, but I'm already falling behind because assignments that should take me an hour take four because every minor task I try to do freezes.
