Hello, I have a brand new HP notebook,
Right from getting the guided start up complete, Using the pre-installed Microsoft Edge browser I could not access my online accounts, playing with the cookies settings i was able to open the websites but could not logon, again trying cookie settings, no luck. I also downloaded the from the Microsoft store the Yahoo mail app, the app was very generic and no settings options and not user friendly, I was unable to download any email attachments or print any emails.... again trying cookie settings.
I am only a armature with computers so I know just enough to be dangerous!
So I downloaded Google Chrome and Lo-and-behold now get all the functionality out of my computer online and a fully useable version of Yahoo mail. I remember having the same problems with my work notebooks and once we started using Chrome every online operation worked flawlessly.
Microsoft claims that their browser is comparable to Google Chrome... But I don't see that? Google seems to have their system more (smarter?)
Anyone have input on this problem?

The MS Edge browser is BASED on Chrome but like all things MS does, they feel they know better than the rest of us and have it configured BY DEFAULT to not download lots of things -- supposedly to "protect" us, but I suspect it's really more of MS wanting to control us. I use Firefox for most browsing because they don't "overprotect" you by preventing you from doing basic stuff, like downloading.
