Hi @Guided,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I understand you're experiencing an issue where both the built-in microphone and camera are not working. Dont worry I'll be glad to help you troubleshoot this.
To assist you better, could you kindly provide the following details?
- The exact HP product model number
- Do you see any error messages in the Camera app or during video calls?
- Is the camera listed under "Cameras" and the microphone listed under "Audio inputs and outputs" in Device Manager?
In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :
1: Check Camera Privacy Settings
- Open Settings -Privacy & Security -Camera.
- Make sure Camera access is turned On.
- Ensure Let apps access your camera is enabled.
2: Check Microphone Privacy Settings
- Open Settings -Privacy & Security -Microphone.
- Turn Microphone access On.
- Verify that applications such as Teams, Zoom, or the Camera app are allowed to use the microphone.
3: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
- Turn off the notebook.
- Power it on and repeatedly tap F2.
- Run the Camera and Audio component tests if available.
- Share the results with us.
4: Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Cameras and Audio inputs and outputs.
- Look for any warning symbols.
