HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

I dialed the phone number [Content Removed] to fax a test page to see if my printer/ fax , HP Officejet 8710 could receive faxes,
but never could get a return fax from HP. Either their fax call-back service doesn't work or has been discontinued! As a continued owner of HP printers, by now I would think HP would have the courtesy to tell their customers why there is no call-back on there test line!

Hi @MiddleClass

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

I understand your frustration, especially when you're trying to test a feature like faxing and things don't work as expected. It can be disappointing when you don't receive the results you're hoping for and aren't given clear answers. The lack of a response from HP's test fax line can be especially confusing, and I can understand how it feels like a missed opportunity for clarity.

If you haven't already, you might try troubleshooting your fax setup by checking the following:

  1. Fax Settings: Ensure that the fax settings on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 are configured correctly, especially the receiving options.
  2. Phone Line Connection: Ensure the phone line is securely connected and working for fax transmission (try sending a fax to a different fax number if possible).
  3. Fax Test: You can also try sending a fax to another fax machine, or use online services to test fax reception to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Thank you Raj2111 for your welcome, and concern for my failed interaction with the HP Fax Test Service Phone number [content removed].

The problem doesn't exist with my HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 fax settings or phone line, because I can receive a fax of my blood test results from my doctor's office. The problem is clearly with the HP Fax Test Service not faxing me back after waiting up to an hour on multiple tries. My transmission completes, but I don't receive a faxback from the HP Fax Test Service ever! If this service is still offered, then you should try it yourself from your home and let me know how you made out.

Please have a good day, and a better day tomorrow.

Hi @MiddleClass,

As you are able to receive and send faxes without any issues with your printer, everything is working fine on your end and the printer.

If you are not able to receive fax from the HP fax service number, might be an issue with the HP fax service number.

Take care and have a great day ahead!

Thank you Irwin6 for your reply, and I agree that there is a definite issue with the HP fax service number, that is not only affecting me but other HP printer fax owners as well. So far HP has not addressed the HP fax service number not faxing, fax transmissions it receives, back. And this might have been going on for sometime! Try the service for yourself and let me know how you make out!
