I want to install Windows 10 but I don't have any disks to choose from. I have an HP laptop with an AMD processor. What drivers do I need to install? I used to have Windows 11, I reinstalled it because when I turned on my laptop I got a window with the error "Boot device not found"

If you know how to fix the error "Boot device not found", then help solve this problem.
BIOS version: F.34
There is no "Legacy Boot order" button in BIOS

Product name: HP laptop 15-ef2xxx

Hi @IlyosYT,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I’m really glad the last response helped — let’s tackle these two new issues together.

Please let me know when you mentioned that “Your device is managed by your organisation” Is this device provided by your Office, or do you have an IT taking care of your pc?

If someone reinstalled Windows for you using a non-genuine or cracked version of Windows, they probably applied:

  • Unauthorised activation tools
  • Group policies to bypass Windows Activation
  • Settings locking certain Windows features

That’s why Ctrl+v, Clipboard history, and other things are disabled.

Related to the Battery Discharge issue, I would suggest that you have to update the latest BIOS on the pc from the Hp.com website.

In the meantime, please try a BIOS Restore and see if this helps.

BIOS Restore :
1) Shut down the computer, keep the  charger plugged
2) Hold down the Windows and B button together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @IlyosYT,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup by pressing Esc repeatedly soon after powering on. Then press F10.
  • Ensure that the hard drive/SSD is detected in the BIOS. It should be listed under Storage Information.

Enable UEFI Mode:

  • Go to the System Configuration tab.
  • Ensure UEFI Boot Order is enabled. If your laptop does not have Legacy Boot order, it is likely set to UEFI mode by default.

Reset BIOS Settings:

  • In the BIOS setup, select the Exit tab.
  • Choose Load Setup Defaults to reset BIOS to default settings and save the changes.

Install Windows 10

Create Windows 10 Installation Media:

  • Use another computer to download the Windows 10 installation tool from the Microsoft website.
  • Create a bootable USB drive using the tool.

Boot from the USB Drive:

  • Insert the bootable USB drive into your laptop.
  • Restart the laptop and press Esc repeatedly soon after powering on. Then press F9.
  • Select the USB drive from the Boot Menu to start the Windows installation process.

Load Drivers (if necessary):

  • During the Windows installation process, if no disks are listed to install Windows, click Load driver.
  • You'll need storage controller drivers specific to your laptop. Visit the HP Support website and download the SATA or NVMe controller driver for your model.
  • Copy these drivers to a USB drive, and load them during the Windows installation.

I hope this helps.

Hello, Kuroi Kenshi, thank you for noticing my message, but I have some questions about installing drivers to boot Windows 10, and I would like to tell you something else about the message "Boot device not found". I went to the laptop test menu via the F2 button, and then clicked "Storage test" and the laptop did not detect anything in it, is this also because of the drivers?

A question about booting Windows 10:

- Which driver from the list should I choose? If "Driver-Storage" then which driver should I choose?

Hello, this has already helped me, thank you, but I have 2 problems.

- Someone reinstalled Windows 10 for me and after installing Windows I do not have access to many Windows functions, for example, the clipboard list, Ctrl+V, etc.
Writes: "The laptop is managed by your organization"

- After repair, my laptop began to discharge quickly, I checked the laptop battery for wear and there was 0% (checked through AIDA64). I think this is due to pirated programs on the laptop and I want to reinstall the operating system, will this help me?
