I am trying to get the battery icon on my laptop taskbar but am unable to get it. I tried adding it by right-clicking on the taskbar, going to properties but am unable to find the battery (or adapter) icon. Please help.

Right Click on taskbar > Properties > Notification Area > Customize > Choose "show icon and notifications" behaviour for Power icon

If there's no Power icon, choose "Turn system icons on or off" colored as blue on that window and select "on" behaviour for Power icon.

As an alternative way, type "edit group policy" on startmenu search box and open Group Policy Editor. On the left panel, follow this path:

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start menu and taskbar

On the right, find "remove the battery meter" and make sure this is not set to "Enabled".
