Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

With my 8710 Printer and windows 10 the OCR would scan to editable text: I now have a new HP laptop, with Windows 11 and the scanner on the 8710 will not scan to editable text. I have been told by an HP Rep that this scanning feature will not work with Windows 11!!!!!  This is disgrace that a new computer offers lesser services and features that an old one with Windows 10.
Can anyone offer a solution?  I know that I can purchase a commercial OCR suite, but I should not have to do this!

Which OCR software do you use ? You have to install THAT software to your new machine.  HP used to supply the following OCR software with HP printers (not all of them)

 

                 https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/readiris/Readiris14ProHPWin.zip
