Hi HP Community,

I have an HP OMEN 16-ap0004ns / BK7U5EA with AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, AMD Radeon 860M integrated graphics and NVIDIA RTX 5050 Laptop GPU.

The laptop was purchased without an operating system. I installed a clean Windows 11 version.

The issue seems to be related to the AMD Radeon 860M iGPU driver. The laptop appeared to work properly with the initial/factory AMD graphics driver used during the first setup. As far as I could tell, that original driver was stable.

The last AMD iGPU driver that seemed to work properly was:
- AMD Radeon 860M Graphics
- Driver version: 32.0.13046.10001 Rev.A

However, any change or update to the AMD iGPU driver after that causes screen freezing issues. This happens with both:
- newer AMD graphics drivers provided by HP for this exact model,
- and AMD graphics drivers downloaded directly from AMD.

So this does not seem to be limited to one specific driver version or to one specific HP package. The problem appears whenever the AMD Radeon 860M iGPU driver is updated beyond the initial/factory version.

Current problematic driver installed:
- AMD Radeon 860M Graphics
- Driver version: 32.0.22042.14002
- HP package: 32.0.22042.14002 Rev.C
- Driver date shown in Windows: 17/04/2026
- HP release date: 20/05/2026

Symptoms:
- The screen freezes randomly.
- The system becomes unresponsive.
- Sometimes I need to force shutdown the laptop.
- The issue appears after updating or changing the AMD iGPU driver.
- The issue happens with both HP AMD drivers and AMD generic drivers.
- I did not install random or modified drivers.
- The original/factory AMD iGPU driver seemed stable, but newer AMD Radeon 860M drivers cause freezing.

This seems connected to the AMD iGPU, hybrid graphics mode, OMEN graphics switching, BIOS/firmware compatibility, Windows driver handling or AMD/NVIDIA driver interaction.

Please escalate this issue to HP driver/BIOS engineering. I need either:
1. A stable updated AMD Radeon 860M driver for this OMEN model.
2. Official rollback instructions to the initial/factory AMD graphics driver.
3. Confirmation if AMD Radeon 860M driver updates have a known issue on this OMEN model.
4. A recommended stable BIOS + AMD driver + NVIDIA driver combination.
5. A way to prevent HP Support Assistant or Windows Update from reinstalling unstable AMD iGPU drivers.

Has anyone else with OMEN 16 / AMD Radeon 860M / RTX 50 experienced freezes after updating the AMD iGPU driver beyond the original/factory version?

Thanks.
