Hello, I recently purchased an HP Omen 16, equipped with RTX 3060, Intel Core i7 12700H, and 16GB RAM with Windows 11.
I've noticed that the HP Gaming Hub on my laptop doesn't include the under-volting feature, and I can't seem to find it anywhere within the Gaming Hub. After some online research, I discovered that a specific BIOS version might be needed to enable this feature, and I may have to reach out to HP's Support Center for assistance. My laptop is currently running the original BIOS version F.20, dated 3/10/23. Additionally, the cooling fan seems to be constantly running, leading me to wonder if there might be an alternative BIOS version that could enhance the system's fan curve.
Furthermore, I'm interested in any general advice or information on how to maximize the performance of my OMEN gaming laptop.
I want to extend my thanks in advance to anyone from the community or HP Support Center who might be able to help me resolve these issues.

Hi @EliothMacias,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Undervolting typically involves reducing the voltage supplied to the CPU or GPU to lower power consumption and heat generation, which can lead to improved performance or lower temperatures if done correctly.
However, undervolting may not be supported on all laptops, and it can vary depending on the manufacturer and model. Whether you can undervolt your OMEN laptop depends on several factors, including the BIOS/UEFI settings and hardware limitations.
Here are some general steps you can follow if you want to attempt undervolting:
- Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: Reboot your laptop and enter the BIOS or UEFI settings. Look for options related to CPU voltage or power management. If you find such options, you may be able to adjust them there.
- Use Software Utilities: Some laptop manufacturers provide software utilities that allow you to adjust CPU and GPU settings, including undervolting. Check HP's official website for any such utilities specific to your OMEN laptop model.
- Be Cautious: Undervolting can potentially cause stability issues if not done correctly. Make small voltage adjustments and test for stability (e.g., by running stress tests) after each adjustment.
- Monitor Temperatures: While undervolting can lower temperatures, monitor your CPU and GPU temperatures to ensure they are within safe limits, especially during gaming or resource-intensive tasks.
- Backup Your Data: Before making any changes to your laptop's settings, ensure you have a backup of your important data in case anything goes wrong.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
