HP OMEN Notebook - 15-5113dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone!

I had to recently factory reset my laptop and reinstall windows. After doing so, it didn't dawn on me that the HP Omen Control software wouldn't be installed. I've tried to look up where to download it and found a few hyperlinks in the support community but that version didn't seem to work. It would run but changing any of the setting like assigning macros, adjusting lighting, reassigning keys, etc. wouldn't have any affect.

Does anyone know how I can get a working version of the OMEN Control software?

Thank you!

@keiwun

Please try

   (a) Open Windows Store,

   (b) Search for Omen Command Center,

  (c) Get it

Regards.

Thank you for your response BH!

My laptop is unfortunately too old for the OMEN Command Center so it’s not compatible. The original software that came with the laptop is the OMEN Control Panel.

If you are using OMEN control, not OMEN Command Center, please follow below steps to have a try.

  1. Uninstall your HP system event utility
  2. Install this version HP system event utility: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp79001-79500/sp79450.exe
  3. After install successfully, restart PC
  4. Then install OMEN Control: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76501-77000/sp76864.exe

Let's see if it works.

Hi Waley,

Thank you for your response! I don't think this is the correct version of the OMEN Control software that came with my laptop. sp76864.exe installed a version that has a UI that looks like this (the attached screenshot below is from another post in the community):

The OMEN Control that came with my laptop had a UI that looks like this (got this picture from https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04492013) :

If it makes any difference, the OMEN Control from sp76864.exe didn't work on my laptop anyways. My end goal is to be able to utilize and program the macro keys again (customizing the keyboard lighting would be great to do again too but not the biggest priority).

Thank you!
