OMEN by HP - 15-dc0700ng
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, and happy new year.

I have a Problem with my OMEN by HP 15-dc0700ng and its driving me crazy. I wanted to use an eGPU and got the Razer Core X with an ASUS GTX 1080. The OMEN 15 has a Thunderbolt 3 port (USB C with Flash symbol) at the back of the device.

No i have the Problem that the OMEN 15 does not recognizes the GPU. It just recognize the Core X as an USB device, but not the GTX 1080. I also cant find any Thunderbolt 3 Controller in my Device Manager.

I already installed the NVIDIA drivers, updatet the Thunderbolt 3 drivers from HP, did a BIOS update and updatet every driver with the HP Support Assistent. But still everytime i connect the eGPU the error "Thunderbolt device functionality might be limited. Make sure the Thunderbolt device is supported by your PC" pops up.

If anyone got an idea or the same Problem, please write me.

Thank you in advance

Jacob

Its specs

It does NOT have 1 Thunderbolt™ 3 port. It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge) port which is NOT a Thunderbolt™ 3

Thank you for your answer but doesn't the Flash mean that it's Tunderbolt 3? And also the Error is talking about the Thunderbolt 3 funktionality.

No, the flash symbol does NOT mean Thunderbolt™ 3 . The flash symbol is not a standard symbol for all machines from all vendors.
