HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an older laptop that has never had the BIOS updated. When searching on Software Drivers and Downloads on the HP website it says there is no BIOS Update available. I find this hard to believe since this is a 2012 or 2013 laptop. How can I find any BIOS update available?

HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC

Product number: B5R83UAR#ABL

Current BIOS:  F.09 - 05/31/2012

Thanks for any help!

Hi:

No g7's were supported by HP for W10, which is why you don't see any BIOS updates.

The last update released for your notebook was F.27 with a release date of Sep 12, 2016.

That update can be found under the Windows 8 driver section.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-g7-Notebook-PC-series/5226249/model/528...

Since the file was written to be run in W8, I would advise against updating the BIOS since you are running W10.

No telling what may happen.  It may work fine, or it may turn your notebook into an expensive paperweight.
