OMEN by HP - 15-ce086nz

Hello Community,
I have an HP Omen 15-ce086nz (Sep 2018) that recently started acting up with a black screen (Windows 10 22H2).
When attached to external monitor it works, and it also works for a short time after updating graphical drivers so I think this is not hardware related.
Upon inspection, I found that the HP Support Assistant was unable to update the BIOS, and that the BIOS is outdated (current version available for my PC is F24, mine is F14). When I tell the Support Assistant to Install updates, all it returns in the logs is "HP Firmware Pack (Intel Processors)     Installation failed on: [date]". I tried uninstalling and re-installing the Support Assistant, didn't help.
I have tried to download the bios directly from HPs website and run the file. The InstallShield Wizard works until "Save file locations", but the "HP bios update and recovery" won't start after this step and all the windows simply close. My antivirus is disabled.
I have considered flashing the BIOS, but I have no idea how to Install it, because the external monitor only works after I reach the login phase. If I press escape during the boot, it definitely stops the booting process but both screens are black, so I can't see what I am doing.
I also tried using the HP image assistant 5.2.1 in the hopes of locating an intermediate bios that would install, but OMEN products seem to not be supported by it.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can get my BIOS up to date in these conditions?

Thank you very much for any help that you may provide! I since bought an OMEN 16 to deal with heavier jobs, but I see no reason to trash a good PC after 5 years. It is still very good for plenty of tasks.
This is my first post, so if I did something wrong or need more precisions please let me know.

EDIT: Importantly, I forgot to mention the following: The RAM was updated based on Crucial recommended buys (32GB). I didn't think about it immediately because the laptop worked for 6 months after installing the new RAM. It seems that for some BIOS versions this causes a black screen. I still don't know how to get to a different version though.

Hi @AlexRA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are facing issues with the display.

Since when are you facing this issue?

Are you able to go to the bios screen or see the bios screen on your laptop?

Meanwhile, let's try a few steps to isolate the issue.

POWER DRAIN:

Please disconnect all the devices and cables connected to your computer including the power cable and then press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds and connect the power cable back again and try to power on the computer.

CBR:

Press windows key and then followed by the key "B" this time and then the power button for around 3-4 seconds, then release the power button and continue to hold windows+B for 3-4 seconds more.

CMOS RESET:

Press windows key and then followed by the key "V" and then the power button for around 3-4 seconds, then release the power button and continue to hold windows+V for 3-4 seconds, you may not receive a response from the computer, Please let me know what happens.

Note: If you are unable to go to the Bios screen and you see there is a black screen, then this could be a display issue that needs to be serviced.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
