Battery failed. Replaced with new. BIOS battery check passes. 2 issues after replacement:

1. When I run a battery test via HP diagnostics, the diagnostic screen locks up and shuts the system down after a few minutes.

No observable error messages.

2. After any shutdown (except a forced power-off via pressing and holding the power button) my laptop automatically restarts after the power button goes dark for about 30 seconds.

 

Battery is fully charged and works properly without AC power connected.

Zero errors or trouble prior to battery replacement.

What can I check to find the cause? Is there something that needs to be reset following the battery replacement?
