Screenshot 2023-07-31 192743.png

I had tried the steps from the following post: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Omen-Command-Center-Background-...

But I cannot create a system restore point because it shows my windows C protection is off.

How can I resolve this?

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "HP Omen Command Center Background.exe Application Error" indicates that there's a problem with the "Background.exe" component of the HP Omen Command Center software. This software is often used to control and customize various settings for HP Omen gaming computers. Application errors like this can have various causes, and here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches or conflicts causing the error.
  • Update the Software: Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Omen Command Center installed. Manufacturers frequently release updates to fix bugs and improve compatibility.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Outdated Windows files can sometimes cause conflicts with applications. Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date.
  • Check for Driver Updates: Outdated or incompatible drivers, especially graphics drivers, can lead to application errors. Visit the HP website and make sure your drivers are up to date.
  • Run as Administrator: Right-click on the HP Omen Command Center icon and select "Run as administrator." This can sometimes help bypass certain permission-related issues.
  • Reinstall HP Omen Command Center: Uninstall the HP Omen Command Center software and then download and install the latest version from HP's official website.
  • Check for Conflicting Software: Some third-party software might conflict with the HP Omen Command Center. Try disabling or uninstalling any other software that might be interfering.
  • Scan for Malware: Malware or viruses can cause application errors. Run a thorough malware scan using your preferred antivirus software.
  • Check System Requirements: Ensure that your computer meets the system requirements for the HP Omen Command Center. If your system falls short, it might cause compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.
