My Omen Gaming Hub used to clean my RAM automatically, but it doesn't do that anymore. How do I make my Omen Gaming Hub clean my RAM automatically?

@Jat31,

The automatic RAM-cleaning feature inside the HP OMEN Gaming Hub is controlled by a sub-tool called Booster, which lives inside the Optimizer menu.

If it stopped cleaning your RAM automatically, a recent update probably turned off the auto-boost trigger or desynced the game detection library.

How to Reactivate Automatic RAM Cleaning:

You can watch this breakdown from the OMEN team demonstrating how the Optimizer handles RAM allocation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0NsM9TP8wk.

Follow these steps to re-enable the feature:

  1. Navigate to the Optimizer: Open the OMEN Gaming Hub app, look at the left-hand sidebar menu, and click on Optimizer.
  2. Access Booster Settings: Click on the Booster tab at the top of the screen.
  3. Turn on the Auto-Boost Toggle: Look for the main setting labeled "Automatically boost all my games" and toggle it to ON. This instructs the software to automatically scan your RAM, flush your standby memory cache, and suspend background tasks the exact second you launch a video game.
  4. Verify RAM Optimization Rules: Click on Configure or look under the RAM/Processes sub-menu inside Booster. Ensure that the boxes for "Clear unused RAM" and "Clean standby memory" are checked.

Why It Might Still Fail (And How to Fix It):

If the auto-boost toggle is already turned on but your RAM isn't clearing, the app cannot detect your game executables.

  • Add Games Manually: If you launch a game and nothing happens, the Hub doesn't know a game is running. Go to the My Games tab in the OMEN Gaming Hub, click the "+" (Add) button, and manually select the .exe file of your game. This maps the trigger back to the Booster engine.
  • Run as Administrator: If the software doesn't have elevated permissions, Windows will block it from closing background system memory. Close the Hub completely, right-click the OMEN Gaming Hub shortcut on your desktop and choose Run as Administrator.

There are alternatives, obviously.

For example, the freeware program called Mem Reduct, which can be configured to monitor and clean your system memory completely automatically. Because it uses native Windows APIs to release standby page lists and system working sets, it can run quietly in the background without needing you to click anything.

To set up automatic memory cleaning, follow these instructions:

1. Launch with Administrator Rights:

For automated cleaning to work seamlessly, Mem Reduct must have permission to flush system-level caches.

  • Right-click the memreduct.exe file and select Run as Administrator.
  • Go into the application's Settings (usually under File or by right-clicking its icon in the system tray).
  • In the General tab, make sure to check the box for "Load at system startup" or "Start minimized" so it activates automatically every time you turn on your PC.

2. Configure the Auto-Clean Thresholds:

Inside the Settings menu, look for the Memory Cleaning tab. This is where you configure the automated triggers:

  • Clean when above ( % ) -Check this box and set a specific percentage (e.g., 80% or 85%). Whenever your RAM usage passes this limit, Mem Reduct will automatically flush the background cache to free up space.
  • Clean every ( minutes ) -Alternatively, you can check this box to schedule memory optimization at a fixed time interval (such as every 30 or 60 minutes).

3. Turn Off Notification Pop-ups (Recommended):

By default, the program might pop up a small notification window in the corner of your screen every single time an automatic cleanup happens.

  • To prevent this from interrupting your gaming or work, go to the Appearance or Notifications tab in Settings and uncheck "Show balloon tooltips" or "Show notifications on clean".

Kind Regards,
