I'm having a problem with my HP 15-dw3033dx notebook. I don't have the POWER-ON PASSWORD.
When I try and fail 3 times, I don't get the error code. Can you give me a solution?
Thanks.

@MarioBogado, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're seeing a Power-On Password prompt on your HP 15-dw3033dx notebook and not receiving an error code after three failed attempts, it likely means the password is set at the BIOS level. Here's what you can do:

What is a Power-On Password?

This is a security feature set in the BIOS that prevents unauthorized access to the system before it boots. If you don’t know this password, you won’t be able to access the operating system or BIOS settings.

Steps to Resolve

Confirm the Type of Password Prompt

  • If the screen says “Enter Password” before Windows loads, it’s a BIOS-level Power-On Password.
  • If it’s asking for a Windows password, that’s different and can be reset via Microsoft account recovery.

No Error Code After 3 Attempts?

  • Normally, after 3 incorrect tries, HP notebooks display a system disabled message with a code (e.g., i12345678). If you're not seeing this, it may be a newer BIOS version that doesn't show it.

Try Resetting CMOS (Optional)

  • Note: This may not work on newer HP models with enhanced security.
  • Disconnect power, remove battery (if removable), and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect and try again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

None of the options work for me, the battery is not removable but I took the laptop apart and removed the battery, and it didn't work, it was still the same... any other possible solution without compromising the hardware?
