Overheating

HP Recommended
HP ENVY x360 - 13z Convertible PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought this laptop and it was sitting on my desk on. The screen turned off, and it was very hot to the touch. I placed the order for it on April 25th 2020, it was delivered on May 7th 2020, and I experienced the overheating issue on May 11th 2020.

@Drew211 Click here for steps to resolve overheating issues, you could try reducing the visual effects to make a minor change, also, ensure you are using a cooling pad as well, to be on a safer side.

Here's how you change windows settings to reduce visual effects:

  • Go to Start Menu > click on Settings.
  • Type performance > choose to Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
  • In the new window, go to the Visual Effects and select Adjust for best performance.
  • click Apply and Ok...this should do the trick.

If the issue persists, I could give you a few more tips to resolve the issue based on the product you have and I'll need you to help me with the below information:
