Elitebook 840 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using HP Elite Book 840 G1 with windows 10 (This problem occured after I formatted it once)

I am unable to detect my android phone in my pc. In phone it shows that it is connected to a pc and it also charges my phone but it dosent recognise.

In device manager it shows as 'MTP' under 'other devices'.

I have tried the method of updating the drivers through device manager and selecting "Let me chose". I could'nt find a single driver in the whole C drive for it.

Also if someone can name the diver which i have to install in the hp website it would be helpful as I could'nt find it.

HP does not have the driver -- because the phone is NOT HP hardware.

I had the same problem with my Android phone -- a  Samsung -- and that was not fixed until I went to Samsung, found their "mobile devices" driver, downloaded that, and installed it.

You will have to check with the manufacturer of your Android phone for the proper mobile driver for Win10.
