HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a040se CTO (Touch)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

i have the HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a040se CTO (Touch) desktop. I can't go to recovery option even if i click F11. It takes me to Please wait screen. I tried BIOS Rollup and update. But still no luck. It is stuck in Please wait screen for long time. I tired re-booting quickly 3 times to get Safe mode, but that also no luck. Any help, much appreciated.

Some Windows Updates in Win10 can take an hour or more to complete.  So, how long did you actually wait before rebooting the PC?

Unfortunately, that error message nearly always means that a recent Windows Update failed and Microsoft then tried to recover from that, but that failed, so it's trying over and over again -- and will never succeed because Windows Update got corrupted in the process.

First thing you need to do is see if you can restart in Safe mode -- by doing these steps: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2304-boot-into-safe-mode-windows-10-a.html

If you don't know how to start using Advanced Startup Options, then read this: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-boot-advanced-startup-options-windows-10-a.html

Then, follow these steps to reset Windows Update: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/24742-reset-windows-update-windows-10-a.html

If these work, when you finally reboot, you should then be able to login to a working Windows desktop.

Thanks, problem with the HP Windows 10, don't have F8 Key and it is not going to the safe mode. I tired several times switiching off to come to safe mode, but it directly takes to "Please wait screen" even the F11 system recovery is not working.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I did review those forums earlier.

While F8 worked to invoke Safe mode in Win8, it does NOT work in Win10 -- which is why I provided the instructions.

Hello Sir,

i did try to open in Safe mode, but its not coming. After Turning on the Desktop, it immediately goes to the HP wait screen.

Before going to HP screen. I tried the below

1) F2 - Diagnostics - Boot rollback

2) Tried F11 -Recovery - Not worked.

don't know how i can get in to safe mode after Switching on the PC. IN some forum it said try on and off 3 times for safe mode. I did try that but no luck.

Thanks for your help, much appreicated.

With Win10, you can't just boot into safe mode anymore -- you have to go through the advanced startup options.

As that link indicated various ways to start that, it looks like you would have to boot from Win10 media since you can't get into Windows.

You can download and create Win10 media from this link:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
