My laptop was working without problems until it restarted itself the other day. Yesterday, it prompted a restart again and now it won’t let me get past the log in screen. Often it freezes on the black page with the HP logo while it opens up, but if it manages to get past that it won’t let me get past the photo screen that says “press any key to log in” (I can’t even type in my password).
I tried a system quick test and everything passed except for the Hard Drive Smart Check and Short DST checks, which both said they are not installed, which seems a little strange to me. The battery check said Primary- ok(0), and I don’t know what that means. I’m not sure which version of windows I have installed, but I’m fairly certain it’s windows 10.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows and it freezes on the login screen.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
As you have mentioned that the hard drive test says hard drive not installed it means that the hard drive is not getting detected or faulty.
Having said that, you have also mentioned that the computer is going till the Windows login screen which confirms that the operating system and BIOS are able to see that hard drive.
I recommend follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
