Pavilion Laptop 15-cw0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I've searched but don't seem to be able to find out whether a Pavilion Laptop 15-cw0xxxcan be powered through a Dell WD15 docking station. Can I use the USB Type-C  to connect and power the laptop? I need a docking station for screen and it also powers it and I don't have enough power in the area so it would be good to be able to use the docking station which I already have.

Thanks

@pacpav

What EXACTLY is your Pavilion Laptop 15-cw0xxx  ? xxx can be from 000aa to 999zz for example HP Pavilion - 15-cw0085nr , its specs

      https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06146610

which shows it has

1 HDMI 1.4;

1 headphone/microphone combo;

1 RJ-45;

2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only);

1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only)

Its USB-C can ONLY transfer data, same as other USB ports except it has type C shape.

Your machine could be the same.

Regards.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. it is HP 15 CW0509sa. in the spec sheet it says : 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (data transfer up to 5 Gb/s. so does that mean it can't deliver power?
