The HP Pavilion x360 - 14-ba111tu convertible notebook is  published as being compatible with a USC-Type C dock (product number Y0K80AA).

What is the product number of the HP Elite USB-C dock that you are referring to?

It is also  compatible with  HP USB-C to multi-port hub (product number 1BG94AA) and an HP USB Type-C to USB Type A hub ( product number Z8W90AA).

Unfortunately, the HP Elite USB-C Docking station (product  number X7W54AA) is not listed as being compatible with your Pavilion x360 convertible notebook.

The unit you bought was made to be used with the HP EliteBook series Enterprise class notebooks.

Your Pavilion x360 convertible notebook is a consumer class version.

thanks again, very expensive in Australia, any other options that have the same features?

Charging, 2 screens, ethernet etc.

I see that the first one in the list is rather pricey @$299.00 AUD. The other ones are $79.00 and $49.00 respectively.

It is unfortunate, but I have not been able to find a hub or dock that is published as being compatible with your consumer model laptop to provide the expansive features of an Enterprise dock/hub at a sub- $100.00 AUD price.

I suppose you coulld buy one of the less expensive units. Use the HDMI output port  on the hub and combine it with the HDMI out that is already present on the notebook.

Ok, so after confirmation from HP, i purchased another dock, a YOK80AA which HP said would work with my HP X360. However it only works with the adapter (so therefore doesnt charge), has an ethernet connection but only one monitor works through a vga adapter to a monitor via the display port. The second monitor doesnt work using the hdmi port.

Am i wrong in thinking that i can run 2 monitors through these 2 ports?

If it is recommended for my pc, why do i need the usb adaptor?

What is th epoint of a docking station if it can only do a few things!

Getting really annoyed now 😞

Please describe the connections you are using with the USB-C dock, the notebook, and the HDMI displays.

Have you tried using an HDMI adapter cable for one of the displays?

I looked at the reviews on the HP Store and see few complaints that it does not work. There may be a permutation of the possible connections between the devices that you are missing.

Why not call a store that sells the USB-C dock and request to have a  dual display setup demonstrated to you.

Ok, its connected through the usb adaptor as it wont recognise it using the USB-C cable directly.

therefore charging is now an issue, problem number 1

2 x Samsung 23" screens using VGA only (from screen) - no hdmi option

1 x VGA to hdmi cable (no adaptor) not working and doesnt even work independently of the dock - brand new cable ?? strange.

https://www.ebay.com.au/p/1080p-HDMI-Male-to-VGA-Female-Video-Adapter-Cable-Converter-Chipset-Built-...

1 x VGA to VGA female / display port connection - this is the one that works - single screen only.

it is currently cutting in and out randomly. does it on both screens when testing both.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Displayport-DP-Male-to-VGA-Female-Video-Converter-Adapter-Cable-For-PC-L...

Am I correct in saying it should display on both display port & hdmi?

It should certainly display via hdmi directly from the monitor.....

DisplayPort and HDMI are both digital.

I am prettty sure that the issue you are facing is that you are using analog displays instead of digital.

They are quite inexpensive now. Perhaps you should consider making the move to displays with HDMI inputs.
