HP Notebook - 15-bs212wm
Microsoft Windows 11

Recently upgraded to Win 11. Always had this problem though. It takes a half hour to boot up get to what i need to do or NOT do what i need to do at all. I was going to do a webinar today but switched to my phone because Android products are far BETTER than Window products. Even Iphone is better(even though i hate them to) So I hard restart it(holding in the power button till it shuts off). After 50 mins it works better now.

@Bryan123456789, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing slow boot times after upgrading to Windows 11 on your HP Notebook 15-bs212wm. Here are some straightforward steps to help improve your system's startup speed:

Disable Fast Startup:

Fast Startup can sometimes cause delays.

Press the Windows key + R, type control, and press Enter.

Click on "Power Options."

Select "Choose what the power buttons do" on the left.

Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable."

Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" and click "Save changes."

Limit startup programs:

Too many programs starting up can slow things down.

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Go to the "Startup" tab.

Right-click on unnecessary programs and select "Disable."

Update Drivers:

Outdated drivers can affect performance.

Press the Windows key, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.

Expand categories like "display adapters."

Right-click on your device and choose "Update driver."

Follow the prompts to search for updates.

Check for malware:

Malware can slow down your system.

Press the Windows key, type "Windows Security," and press Enter.

Select "Virus & threat protection."

Click "Quick scan" and follow any prompts if threats are found.
