🧩 Problem Summary
I own a Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0147AX (8F503PA) with Ryzen 5 5600H + Radeon RX 6500M.
In OMEN Gaming Hub, the Performance Control tab only shows “Eco, Balanced, and Quiet” modes — the “Performance Mode” option is missing.
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
🧰 Steps Already Tried
Completely uninstalled OMEN Gaming Hub and reinstalled the latest version from Microsoft Store.
Deleted old SDK folders and reinstalled the latest OMEN SDK Package from HP’s official drivers page.
Enabled “Action Keys Mode” in BIOS (to make sure the OMEN key and system controls work properly).
Verified “HP Omen HSA Service” is running in services.msc.
Plugged in charger and tested again (since Performance Mode only appears on AC power).
System is up to date — latest BIOS, chipset, and graphics drivers installed from HP and AMD.
⚠️ Current Issue
Despite all these steps, Performance Mode still does not appear in OMEN Gaming Hub — only Eco, Balanced, and Quiet modes are visible.
I suspect this might be a firmware restriction or missing hardware control support for this model.

Hi @Kartikai
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for laying out your steps so clearly—it’s clear you’ve been meticulous, and I completely understand how disappointing it is when Performance Mode doesn’t appear despite everything being in place.
Let’s explore a few more angles that might help unlock that missing option.
1. Confirm OMEN Dynamic Power Is Enabled
Some Victus models rely on OMEN Dynamic Power to manage performance scaling. If this feature is disabled, Performance Mode may not appear.
- Open OMEN Gaming Hub
- Go to Settings > General
- Look for OMEN Dynamic Power and ensure it’s enabled
- Restart the system and check the Performance Control tab again
2. Check Windows Power Plan
Make sure the system is using a power plan that allows full performance scaling:
Go to Control Panel > Power Options
Select High performance or Ultimate Performance (if available)
If only Balanced is visible, open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
- powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
This adds the Ultimate Performance plan. Select it and restart OMEN Gaming Hub.
3. Verify OMEN SDK and Services Are Fully Active
Even after reinstalling the SDK, it’s worth confirming the services are running correctly:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
- Ensure the following are Running and set to Automatic:
- HP Omen HSA Service
- HP System Event Utility Service
- OMEN Gaming Hub Background Service
If any are missing, reinstall the HP System Event Utility for your model.
4. Try Clean Boot + Reinstall
To rule out interference from third-party software:
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter
- Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all
- Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all startup items
- Restart the PC
- Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub and SDK
- Check if Performance Mode appears
You can revert the changes after testing.
5. Confirm Model-Specific Support
Some Victus models, even with discrete GPUs, may not expose Performance Mode due to thermal or firmware constraints. If all services and software are in place and the mode still doesn’t appear, it’s possible the system is designed to operate within the Eco–Balanced–Quiet range only.
Let me know if you’d like help checking your model’s full software stack or if you’d like to explore alternate tuning options like Radeon Software’s performance profiles.
You’ve already done an outstanding job narrowing this down. Let’s see if we can get that extra gear unlocked.

Thanks for the response.
Actually, in my OMEN Gaming Hub toolkit, I can see two control sections:
AI Controlled Settings → OMEN AI (Beta)
User Controlled Settings → Power and Thermals (with the modes Quiet, Eco, and Default)
Also, in the Optimizer section, I have Booster and Cleaner, plus Network Booster under the network tab.
But I still don’t see anything related to OMEN Dynamic Power in my system.
For reference, I’m using an HP Victus 15-fb0147AX running on Windows 11, and both OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN SDK Package are fully updated from the Microsoft Store. BIOS and drivers are also up to date.
I just wanted to confirm — is OMEN Dynamic Power unavailable for my model, or could it be disabled due to hardware limitations?
Also, since my laptop uses an AMD GPU, could that be why I’m not getting the Performance Mode option? Maybe it’s less optimized compared to the NVIDIA GPUs (like GTX 1650, 2050, or 3050)?
Would really appreciate some clarity on this.

Thanks for replying, @Kartikai
You are very welcome!
Thanks for laying out your setup and steps so clearly—it’s clear you’ve been thorough and persistent, and I’m really sorry that Performance Mode still isn’t appearing.
That kind of limitation can feel especially frustrating when you know your hardware is capable and you’ve done everything right.
Why Performance Mode May Be Missing on Your Victus 15-fb0147AX
Based on your configuration and the behavior of OMEN Gaming Hub, here’s what’s likely happening:
1. OMEN Dynamic Power Is Not Supported on Your Model
- OMEN Dynamic Power is typically available on select OMEN laptops and desktops, not all Victus models.
- Since your OMEN Gaming Hub doesn’t show this feature under Settings > General, it’s safe to say it’s not enabled or supported for your system.
2. AMD GPU Models May Have Limited OMEN Integration
- Victus models with NVIDIA GPUs (like GTX 1650, RTX 2050, or 3050) tend to expose Performance Mode more consistently.
- Your system uses the Radeon RX 6500M, which may rely more on AMD Adrenalin Software for performance tuning rather than OMEN Gaming Hub.
You can explore AMD’s own performance profiles:
- Download or open AMD Adrenalin Software
- Go to Performance > Tuning
- Enable Manual or Automatic GPU tuning
- Adjust fan curves, power limits, and clock speeds
What You Can Still Do for Performance Tuning
1. Use Windows Ultimate Performance Plan
Even without OMEN Dynamic Power, this plan can help unlock higher power thresholds.
- Open Command Prompt as administrator
- Run:
powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61 - Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select Ultimate Performance
- Restart OMEN Gaming Hub and check if any new modes appear
2. Use Radeon Software for GPU Optimization
- Open AMD Adrenalin Software
- Go to Performance > Tuning
- Enable SmartShift (if available) and adjust GPU settings
- Monitor thermals and performance during gaming or heavy tasks
3. Monitor System Behavior with OMEN AI
Since you have access to OMEN AI (Beta), it may be dynamically adjusting performance based on usage. You can observe how it behaves under load and compare with manual settings.
Let me know if you’d like help configuring AMD Adrenalin or checking your BIOS for SmartShift support. You’ve already done an outstanding job narrowing this down, and your system still has plenty of performance potential—you’re just working with a slightly different tuning path than NVIDIA-based models.

Thanks for the detailed guidance. I’ve walked through every step you outlined—Dynamic Power is enabled, the Windows power plan is set to High/Ultimate Performance, all OMEN-related services are running correctly, and I even performed a clean boot with a full reinstall of OMEN Gaming Hub and the SDK. Unfortunately, Performance Mode still does not appear in the Performance Control tab.
For context, my device is a Victus by HP 15.6" Gaming Laptop 15-fa2000 (A8VY0AV) with an RTX 4050 and an Intel i5-13th Gen processor. Given the hardware configuration, I expected Performance Mode to be available, so I want to confirm whether this specific model is actually supported or if it is intentionally limited to the default modes.
If there are additional model-specific requirements, firmware considerations, or configuration dependencies that could affect the availability of Performance Mode on this unit, I would appreciate any clarification.
