How to repair problems with the 'Photos' app after upgrading my HP Envy to Windows 11?

  1. While viewing images, the screen often goes black for several seconds.
  2. Continuing viewing after deleting an image, the viewer jumps to the first picture in the folder instead of the next picture in sequence.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Photos is a Windows built-in application.

There are a couple of options you can try -

In general, when an app goes completely sideways, I've had better luck with "Reset" as opposed to the "Repair" option.

Settings > Apps > Installed Apps

Scroll down and find or Search for "Photos"

Click the "three dots" on the right of the listing to open the menu > Select Advanced >

Scroll down a bit and select "Reset".

What else?

Upgrading to a new Operating System can leave drivers in a mess --

Perhaps before you Reset Photos...

Make sure all the Windows Updates are finished installing.

and

Make sure your Envy has the appropriate Video drivers installed for Windows 11.
