Hi lyon08

If your HP ZBook 14 G2 is experiencing issues with hotkeys and shortcut keys after an update, and you're hearing beep sounds when pressing the Windows button or executing commands, try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem:

  1. Restart Your Laptop:

    • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software conflicts that occurred during the update.
  2. Update Keyboard Drivers:

    • Access the Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting "Device Manager."
    • Expand the "Keyboards" section.
    • Right-click your keyboard entry and select "Update driver."
    • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  3. Check for Windows Updates:

    • Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
    • Navigate to "Update & Security."
    • Click on "Windows Update" and check for any additional updates that might need to be installed.
  4. HP Support Assistant:

    • Use the HP Support Assistant to check for any specific HP driver updates that might be available for your device.
    • Open HP Support Assistant and navigate to the "Updates" section to download and install any relevant updates.
  5. Adjust System Sounds:

    • Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
    • Go to "System" and then "Sound."
    • Under "Sound Control Panel" on the right side, click to open.
    • Go to the "Sounds" tab, then under "Program Events," scroll down to find and change the sound associated with pressing keys to "None."
  6. Adjust Ease of Access Settings:

    • Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
    • Navigate to "Ease of Access."
    • Under the "Keyboard" section, ensure that "Filter Keys" is not enabled, as this can block repeated keys and create unintended beeps.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve issues with your hotkeys and shortcut keys on your HP ZBook 14 G2. If the problem persists, you might need to look for specific updates or patches from HP's support website tailored to your model.
