Hello. I am a teacher in Special Education (Students with multiple disabilities). With all that is happening, I am required to set up virtual classrooms and communicate with my students through google hangouts meet. I have been trying to get this to work for literally hours today with no help or progress. I am at my wits wend and so upset. Please help!
I have a HP envy m6. I purchased the most up to date Youcam product today and downloaded it all. It is all installed on my laptop and so is google hangouts. I've checked my device manager and under imaging devices I see "CyberLink Youcam 9. " So I know it is all set up and good to go. I log onto google hangouts, start a room, have others join and they cannot see or hear me! I can see and hear them, but they can't hear or see me and I've tried everything today with no success! Please help!!! I've contacted HP and done their virtual agent and it is terrible! They will not connect me to a live agent and no one will help. My laptop is a 64 bit windows 8.1 Thank you so much.

First, make sure your cam and mic are turned on. Open your start menu and type "camera" and use the camera app to test.
For Mic, hit the volume icon in systray in bottom right of screen and select open sound settings. Scroll down to mic and hit the troubleshoot button. Follow the instructions from there.
You also want to run your HP SDM utility to be sure drivers and firmware are up to date.
Reboot. Always remember to reboot. It fixes so much.
Hope that helps, if not, let me know.

Hello @EdwardsB216
If you run Windows 8, please click on the Star button and type Camera
Start the Windows Camera app and let me know if your Camera works ? Do you see yourself there ?
Please, visit this website and let me know if you can successfully test your webcam (make sure you allow the camera access to your browser)... so here is the website >> https://webcamtests.com/
edit - it seems that @Patrick_Le was faster with the reply

Hello. Thank you for your response. No, the camera does not work. It says, "something went wrong. We can't get to the camera roll right now." I'm using cyberlink youcam deluxe 9 software. I have a small circle at the top of my laptop that says truevision hd next to it (webcam, correct?) Why does it not work? I have tried everything and my laptop does not even recognize that there is an internal camera here.
Thanks so much!!

Sounding more and more like a driver update situation. Download and install HP Softpaq Download Manager and use it to update your drivers and firmware. It's from HP so safe to use...as far as HP is concerned.
Then follow up with a few rounds of Windiws Updates.
Remember to reboot after updates complete.
