HP ENVY x360 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000 (552D6AV)

This problem has been posted multiple times on this website. My  HP ENVY x360 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000 (552D6AV)Touchscreen has stopped for a while now. I have tried every solution on the web. Whether it be diagnostics, driver update, resetting the laptop, reinstalling WIndows.

The touchscreen works in diagnostics. But does not work at all in Windows and no where to be seen on Device Manager. Please provide me a link to manually download this driver to make it work again. I can assure you that I have tried all other solutions.

Hi everyone,

Thank God, and thank Garp I was able to finally able to fix the touchscreen.  These are the steps I followed:

  1. Download any relevant input/HID drivers from the HP website.
  2. Uninstall any relevant drivers from Device Manager, including the Quick SPI Host Controller which had an error.
  3. Install the downloaded drivers.
  4. Also, I clicked Add Drivers (browsed from PC - the entire C Drive) from Device Manager. It seemed to automatically install some drivers from the PC (which I did not download!).
  5. Tada! Touch started working again. I restarted the PC and checked Windows PC to make sure everything is still working.

Here are the before and after pictures of the Device Manager (HID category):

Before:

After:

Certainly a whole host of new drivers popped up which I didn't even download! I presume it was buried somewhere in the PC since the hardware was working fine.

Hope this helps all those suffering without touchscreen. 🙂

@Jacob207, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting, but since the touchscreen is detected in diagnostics but not in Windows, it could indicate that the driver for the touchscreen might be missing, corrupted, or not properly installed. Here's a systematic approach to try and fix this issue:

Check Windows Updates

First, make sure your Windows is fully updated, as updates often contain critical drivers for hardware devices.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

Restart your laptop if updates are installed.

Reinstall Touchscreen Drivers Manually

Since the touchscreen works in diagnostics but isn't showing up in the Device Manager, let's try manually reinstalling the touchscreen drivers.

Steps to manually reinstall the driver:

Download the driver:

Visit HP ENVY x360 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000 (552D6AV) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Supp... and search for the latest drivers.

Download the HP Inc. HID-compliant Touch Screen driver or any driver related to the touchscreen.

Uninstall existing drivers:

Press Win + X and select Device Manager.

Find and expand Human Interface Devices.

Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen (if listed) and select Uninstall device. If you don't see the touchscreen listed, skip this step.

Reinstall the driver:

Double-click the downloaded driver file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

Restart your laptop after the installation is complete.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Garp,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the solution which you have provided did not work for the following reasons:

  1. Windows Updates does not show any relevant updates.
  2. I've tried to reinstall all related drivers from this link (https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/hp-envy-x360-13.3-inch-2-in-1-laptop-pc-13-bf0000/model/2101086...) and restart the PC.  It did not work.
  3. There is no 'HID-compliant Touch Screen driver' on this link.
  4. Please see attached screenshot for possible error:
    Jacob207_0-1751985703481.png

  5. I have tried fixing 'Intel(R) Quick SPI Host Controller - 51D0' driver as well. Not resolved.

Hope to hear from you soon.
