When I press the power button, nothing happens. All I can see is the power button blinking and never stopping.

Here’s everything I’ve tried:
-Removed the battery
-Changed the power adapter
-Replaced the CMOS battery
-Changed the RAM.
But my laptop is still blinking. However, in the morning after I wake up, the laptop will turn on.

Here is my spec:
-i5 6300hq
-Gtx 950m
-HP Gaming Pavilion 15 AK030TX

Hi @golazo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Thanks for detailing all the steps you’ve already tried, it’s really helpful! The blinking power button is usually an LED blink code that indicates a specific hardware issue. Let’s try narrowing this down:

1. Count the Blinks

Watch the power button LED carefully.

The blinks typically occur in a pattern (for example, 3 short blinks, pause, repeat).

Each pattern corresponds to a hardware issue (RAM, CPU, BIOS, etc.). Please let me know the blink pattern you observe.

2. Hard Reset

Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery.

Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.

Reconnect only the AC adapter (leave the battery out) and try to power it on.

3. BIOS Recovery

Hold Windows + B (or Windows + V on some models).

While holding the keys, press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding the keys.

If the BIOS recovery screen appears, let it attempt to reload.

4. Test with Minimal Hardware

Disconnect any USB devices, external drives, or accessories.

Try booting with one RAM stick at a time (if you have 2).

If you replaced the RAM, reseat it again carefully.

5. Power/Temperature Behavior
Since you mentioned the laptop sometimes powers on after being left overnight, it could point to:

Overheating/thermal shutdown (dust buildup, fan not spinning properly).

Motherboard or power delivery issue (capacitors discharging overnight allows a fresh start).

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
