Hi all,
My HP Pro Pen, which was in the box with my ProBook x360 435 G8, used to work with Windows 10. After upgrading to WIndows 11 23H2 the Pro Pen is now irresponsive. Already tried to:
- Install a new AAAA battery
- Install all latest HP drivers and BIOS update
- Exchange tip, which was very fiddly and required considerable force
Any ideas?
Any alternative pens?
Kind regards
Al

Hi ! Have you found a solution please ? I recently bought an hp probook x360 435 g8 and an hp pro pen g1 separately. I can’t write with the pen. When I try to draw a line it is just a succession of dots. I know the problem comes from the pen because my friend’s pen (which is not even from hp) works fine on my laptop.

Dear Felicia
I just got today a new HP Pro Pen G1 and it worked out of the box. No need to do any pairing or anything, just tip on the screen without pressing any button. If I draw with a passive pen I get thick and discountinuous strokes, the HP pen delivers thin and continuous lines. I guess I damaged my previous pen when I changed the tip.
The part number I ordered and in the HP box I got is 8JU62AA#AC3.
Good luck,
Al

Hello Al !
It seems you replied to me 5 days ago. I received a notification in my mailbox but I dont know why I can’t view your comment on the forum.
I’m really sorry to hear that your new pen stopped working, that must be so frustrating and I hope you find another laptop that will suit you. About my friend’s pen, it is an Apple Pencil dupe she bought on Shein for a very cheap price. It is not an active pen and doesn’t require any battery. It’s really bad for writing because the end is thick so the lines are not precise.
I’ll just cross my fingers for now and order another pro pen. Thank you for the update comments, they were really helpful.
Best wishes !
