My version of win 10 PRO is 1709 build 16229.64. After todays Windows update System complaint that application
HP 3D DriveGuard ( was version 6.028.1 ) is not compatible with system. I uninstalled this version and downloaded
another version 6.041.1 which was installed successfully. But this did not solve the problem.
Where I can find the latest version of HP 3D DriveGuard?
Can I use my PC now. Boot up is very slow for some reason?

Hi,
Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
Download the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81001-81500/sp81142.exe
Download and install the x64 version of 7-Zip on the link below.
When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the sp81142 package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok.
Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find.
When done, hold down the Windows key and press R
Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
In Device Manager, expand System devices, right click the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor entry and select 'Update Driver Software'.
In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted sp81142 folder you pasted on your Desktop.
Browse into the sub-folder InstallFiles, open the folder Win10, left click on the file accelerometer to highlight it and then click Open.
Click on 'Ok' and then click 'Next' and wait for the driver to install.
When done, click 'Close' and then click 'Yes' to restart the notebook.

First of all I really appreciate fast and correct reply from DavidPK.
My PC has now latest version HP 3D DriveGuard.
But my problem is not solved due to my error. The problem was originally that system complaned that app HP Accelerometer is not compatible with system after today's update and will be locked. After research I found MS site that solution is the latest version of HP 3D DriveGuard. The original message is still appeared on reboot.
There is the driver HP data protection sensor by HP development Company L.P. ( version 6.0.22.1)
which was installed or updated 3 weeks ago and stated that it working properly in device maager
What should I do?
Ignore message from MS ( how they know new divers from HP? )??
Is a new driver from HP exists? Not sure because installed HP Support Assistant did not found any driver updates.

Hello,
I have the same problem and wanted to use your solution.
All went ok until the following instruction :
"Browse into the sub-folder InstallFiles, open the folder Win10, left click on the file accelerometer to highlight it and then click Open."
I can browse to the folder Win10 but I cannot see any file in this folder ! (with my explorer I can see the accelerometer.ini file.
Have you an idea ?
Thanks and regards

Hello,
I assume that the installation of 7-zip was ok and you downloaded 81142.exe
You right clicked on this file and select 7-zip to extract files. By default it will create subdirectory 81142
where sp81142.exe located. There is sub-folder InstallFiles and win 10 sub-folder there is accelerometer.inf file.
You said that you be able to see this file with File Explore. You can open this file with notepad
When you try to update driver by opening this file
in subdirectory 81142 only. If it did not work you should ask another question about updating driver
on HP forum.
Good luck, just try to be helpful.

Hello,
I consider that the 3D drive soft is not working because :
1) in device manager the driver HP Mobile Data protection sensor have a warning ! and code 48 (not compatible)
2) in configuration screen/programmas I see HP 3D Drive Guard in grey
Hope this helps
