HP Notebook 15-ac029tx
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi everyone!

I have a question regarding upgrading  the processor of my HP Notebook 15-ac029tx . since, I'm a bit low on cash, I was thinking of upgrading the processor from i3 to i5 (10th gen maybe?) Please let me know if it can be done.

Best regards

Hi:

The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded separately.

In order to upgrade the processor, you would have to replace the motherboard with one listed in your notebook's service manual that may come with better processor.

You would probably have to replace the heat sink as well.

The costs attendant to doing such an upgrade would probably come close to what you paid for the notebook.
