If I upgrade my laptop from i3 processor to i5 will it run smoothly? Is it compatible with my current device?

Hi:

 

The processor your notebook has is an integral part of the motherboard.

 

The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.

 

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

 

It would probably cost as much or more as buying a new notebook with a better processor already included.
