Thanks again for all your help...
perhaps the tech will have a change of heart and make it right as I have paid and I did not get what I paid for and he knows it.
Otherwise a great tech..these folks tend to be spacey or on another planet. (lol)
Have an great day ahead.

**This is what the Tech just sent to me. I didn't think it mattered whether it was 32 or 64 BIT?!? What you say Pleeze?
"**I'll send you a home premium key - I think I only have a 64 bit, that's what u need?"
Thank you,
Rafael

Friend..
I'll ask you again after stating what the Tech just sent me **below.
**I'll send you a home premium key - I think I only have a 64 bit, that's what u need?"
Will it matter if he sends me a 64 Bit key? The Tutorial I listed in a previous post would not allow me to do a 64 Bit clean install. So, i did it in 32 Bit.
I have no idea why I could not use the 64 Bit listed in the Tutorial???
I can't say for sure that this solved the issue until I get the Product key from the Tech or I buy a Rebuild Kit.
Best,Rafael

I'm not sure why you're not able to do that and why your tech is advising you like that.
According to my understanding you can install both 32bit or 64bit with same HP recovery discs at present.
If you surely have COA sticker in tact then you can clean install Windows 7, anyone 32 or 64bit with the same printed key.
No other way I know of, sorry.

Dear Provost!
All is well I pray...
Are you aware of any other places that can supply Recovery kits for my computer?
I have received kind of mixed messages from the folks you recommended. Are you certain they can supply the kit I need?
Let me know please either way?
Thank you!
Best, Ralph

@ABHenry, here is a a company, www.computersurgeons.com, that may have the
Recovery media. I have recommmended them to many members of the Forums over the years. There have never been any complaints.

Thank YOU!
i have been in touch with them and at first they assured me they had the correct recovery kit.
Here is the link: Since COA sticker has faded away, the only other option is to order HP recovery discs for this model from online sellers like this:
http://computersurgeons.com/p-17113-recovery-kit-585293-001-for-hp-model-number-dv7-3085dx.aspx
I was told in two different conversations that they had the recovery kit "no worries" and to order when I was ready.
Yesterday I got this **email which I responded to and haven't heard back yet. I WAS NOT seeking any hardware help so I'm not sure where he got that from?!?
If I try to order the kit from the website and enter checkout it appears that they have it..So, I'm confused and concerned and I need to get this resolved as the Windows Activation is pending shortly.
What you say?

@ABHenry, I would place the order to see if they confirm that they have the Recovery media. They should do so before placing the order.
