Microsoft Windows 11

I have recently purchased a HP laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 5700U.  Completed a fresh install from a USB to remove all bloatware but it seems Touchpoint Analytics reinstalls automatically no matter what I do. It does not appear on the add/remove programs and is hiding in the Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository folder. If you try to delete the corresponding folders you receive a message that "You require permission from System to make changes to this file". Any attempt to change security settings via properties are greyed out.

Seriously considering referring this to the Information Commissioner's Office as I'm fairly sure inflicted spyware breaches GDPR regulations in Europe.

Can somebody please tell me where I am going wrong or verify my worst fears that I am right.

Hi:

I also got that software installed by Windows Update.

I don't know how to get rid of it, but I can tell you how to disable it.

Go to the Windows Control Panel>System & Security>Administrative Tools>Services.

Find the HP Analytics service.  Click on it.  Stop the service and change the startup type setting from Automatic to Disabled and restart the PC.

No more problem.

Thank you, I've marked as 'helpful' because it is a helpful response but I'd already done that myself. Was looking for a way to delete it completely and not have it reinstalled at any point. Creepy stuff, it seems it's impossible to own a device that has internet access, without being monitored anymore; Orwell was right.

You're very welcome.

I do not believe that there is a way to do that after searching for any related posts on this matter.
