i've just purchased the product shown. i am not a gamer but there are a few old but gold games i like to play some time. one of them is Total Club Manager 2005, i've been playing it some time till 18 years:) but i can not run my game in this laptop. before this laptop, i had an hp pavilion 15-cs 2018 nt model laptop and there was not a problem to run the game.
i have tried all compatibilties, choosed two graphic cards separately but no run. actually it opens the game there is sound of game but there is not display, sometimes it opens the game a while but shuts it suddenly...etc but generally when i run the the game i see a black display waiting.
so is there a solution out of known ones. thanks

Hi @methefree,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're interested in running an old game from 2005 on an HP Envy X360 15.6 Inch 2-In-1 Laptop PC with an RTX 3050 GPU. Running older games on modern hardware is generally not a problem, as modern computers are usually backward-compatible with older software. However, there are a few things you might want to consider to ensure a smooth gaming experience.
- Check System Requirements: First, check the system requirements of the game to make sure your laptop meets or exceeds them. Given that your laptop has an RTX 3050 GPU, it's likely more than capable of running a game from 2005.
- Compatibility Mode: If you encounter issues running the game on Windows 10 or later, you can try running it in compatibility mode. Right-click on the game's executable file, go to Properties, and under the Compatibility tab, select an older version of Windows that the game was designed for.
- Driver Updates: Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from NVIDIA's website. Sometimes, updated drivers can resolve compatibility issues.
- Resolution and Aspect Ratio: Older games may not support modern widescreen resolutions. You might need to adjust the game's settings to match your laptop's screen resolution or run the game in windowed mode.
- Game Patches: Check if there are any official patches or community mods available for the game. Many older games have patches that improve compatibility with newer hardware and fix bugs.
- Compatibility Tweaks: You can also explore community forums or websites dedicated to retro gaming. Often, gamers share tips and tweaks to make older games work on modern systems.
- Emulation: In extreme cases, you might need to use an emulator or a virtual machine to run really old games that are incompatible with modern hardware and operating systems. DOSBox is a popular emulator for running DOS games.
- Game Settings: Within the game, check its settings for any graphics or compatibility options. Some older games have settings that can be adjusted to improve compatibility.
Most likely, with your HP Envy X360 laptop with an RTX 3050, you should be able to run an old game from 2005 without major issues. However, some tweaking might be necessary, as mentioned above, to ensure a smooth gaming experience.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
