I have the same problem with the "Radeon Settings" software continually saying there is a new update. I have given up trying to install the update. It appears that the Radeon software is not able to determine which driver is installed. In device manager, the driver shown has a higher number than the suggested radeon settings driver. It would be good if either AMD or HP would fix this irritant.
It would be nice to have some confirmation from HP that the above analysis is correct.

This is not a problem unique to HPs running Radeon drivers.
How do I know? Because for several weeks, I was getting an annoying popup on my desktop telling me a new AMD driver version was available and when I checked Radeon Settings, the version shown as available was a LOWER version number than the one I had already installed.
Sound familiar?
I finally solved it by downloading and installing the latest Radeon driver -- v19.4.1 (18.50.31.01)
You can get those drivers directly from AMD.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

Device manager settings was showing driver version 23.xx.. I just did a driver update in device manager and the driver was updated to 25.20.15008.2 dated12/25/2018. This is inconsistent with the "Radeon Settings" software. The display driver has been working well, no complaints.
