Hi, I just want to know if it is normal for my laptop to constantly use about 55% Ram (13GB) with no apps running.

While YOU are not running any apps, Windows 10 is running LOTS of background tasks and those use some of the memory.

I just checked my PC and while I have only four apps running, there are 72 background processes also running.

So, yes, it's common for that to happen.

Ok thanks. It only seems a bit unusual, because my previous laptop had 16 GB ram and it was never more than 25% on idle.

Yeah -- I understand, and folks that claim Win10 is a lot more efficient that Win7 are overlooking the fact that newer laptops have processors that are a lot more powerful than the older Win7 laptops, so of course they would run faster -- even with a lot more tasks running in the background.

If you want to experiment with disabling tasks you do not need, read this:  Black Viper’s Windows 10 Service Configurations » Black Viper www.blackviper.com
