HP Pavilion Notebook

Random photos from photo albums I made are randomly disappearing. I know I 100% have not deleted them because there was a picture of a cow I took in Ireland which I liked, but it has completely vanished from the folder. This isn't the first time a similar thing has happened, but in the past I have just thought I must have accidentally deleted it. But it has happened again, so it makes me think that something is up...how can I get the photos back?

I have an HP Pavilion Notebook, bought in 2017, I think with the latest Windows 10 OS but not definitely sure. Intel core i5 7th Gen. Please help! Thanks

No expertise claimed, but I recall reading something similar being one of the consequences of installing the MS (October) update 1809.  I also thought that this had been suspended while they looked at what had gone wrong.

(I hope this link from BBC News - 8 October - clarifies my rambling, IF it works!)

What is causing your photos to disappear could be the issue with Microsoft update as mentioned in the link posted or it could also be a virus/malware program. Have your system scan with an Anti-virus or Anti-malware software and also try roll back any recent update you have made. As for the photos, you can try recovery tools if it can help you get back your disappearing documents.
