Hi @cfederer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for sharing the additional details. Since the docking stations continue to charge the laptop but no longer detect external monitors or other connected devices after installing HP Firmware 1.9.2.0, the USB-C connection is providing power, but the dock is not communicating correctly with the system.

I recommend trying the following steps in order:

1. Power cycle the docking station

This resets the dock's internal controller.

Disconnect the dock from the laptop.

Unplug the dock's power adapter.

Wait at least 30 seconds.

Reconnect the dock's power adapter.

Connect the dock back to the laptop and test the connected devices.

2. Update the docking station firmware

Make sure the dock is running the latest available firmware for your model.

Download the latest firmware from the official HP support page for your docking station:

HP USB-C Dock G5 Software and Drivers

If you're using an HP USB-C Dock G2/G20, download the corresponding firmware package for that specific dock model from HP Support.

3. Update the notebook's BIOS and drivers

Install the latest versions of the following from the HP support page for your notebook:

BIOS

Chipset driver

Graphics driver

USB-C/Thunderbolt drivers (if applicable)

Restart the notebook after installing the updates.

4. Check the display settings

After reconnecting the dock:

Open Settings > System > Display.

Click Detect to check whether Windows recognizes the external monitors.

Press Windows + P and select Extend or Duplicate, as needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,
