My HP ProBook 455 15.6-inch G9 Notebook has an AMD Ryzen 5 5625U with Radeon Graphics processor. I have had the same problem of not being able to update to 24H2. I am concerned as 23H2 goes unsupported in November and that will leave me very vulnerable.

Hello @PeterDawson ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

It’s understandable to be concerned about not being offered Windows 11 24H2, especially if 23H2 support ends soon.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that could help resolve the issue:

  1. Check Compatibility: Ensure that your device meets the system requirements for the Windows version you're trying to upgrade to. Sometimes, certain hardware or driver compatibilities can prevent an upgrade.
  2. Update Drivers: Make sure all drivers, especially for your AMD Ryzen processor and Radeon graphics, are updated to the latest versions. HP Support Assistant can help with automatic updates.

  3. Windows Update Troubleshooter: Try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter. It can detect and potentially fix problems with updating.

  4. Disk Space: Ensure there is sufficient disk space available for the update to download and install properly.

  5. Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is necessary for downloading updates. Verify that your connection is strong and stable during the update process.

  6. Anti-virus Software: Sometimes, antivirus software settings can interfere with updates. Check your security software settings or temporarily disable them to see if they are causing the issue.

  7. BIOS and Firmware: Ensure that your BIOS and firmware are up-to-date. Check HP's Software and Driver Downloads page for any available updates for your model.

  8. Windows Update Reset: Consider resetting the Windows Update components if you're still unable to update.

If the issue persists, you might want to contact HP Support for more detailed assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your laptop model.
