I have this exact same problem. It actually worked on the first day and I could see settings related to my computer like webcam settings, audio, changing the one hot key. But for whatever reason those have all dissapeared. All I get now is a black screen with a picture of my laptop.

 

I don't get it, someone please help!!!

It sounds like the myHP app on your HP Dragonfly Pro laptop is having trouble displaying its settings or features. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

 

Restart the App and Laptop:

  • Close the myHP app completely and restart it.
  • If that doesn't work, restart your laptop to clear any temporary glitches.

Check for App Updates:

  • Open the Microsoft Store or HP Support Assistant and check if there are any updates available for the myHP app. An update might resolve the issue.

Reinstall the App:

  • Uninstall the myHP app from your laptop.
  • Go to the Microsoft Store, search for the myHP app, and reinstall it.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates can fix compatibility issues with apps.

Check HP Support:

  • Visit the HP support website and check if there are any known issues with the myHP app for your specific laptop model. You might find additional troubleshooting steps or a newer version of the app.

Check App Permissions:

I've tried all those things and unfortunately it still doesn't work properly. I even went as far as resetting the PC to factory settings and wiping everything (i made a backup of course) and surprisingly that still doesn't work. The myHP app opens, but it looks exactly like the screenshot I shared above.

 

This leads me to believe maybe there's some firmware/bios update that happened which causes incomptability with the myHP app.
