Hello,

I have got the HP EliteBook 800 G1without OS. Can I install windows 10, if yes, how to do? Or which original OS was delivered with a new notebook.

Well, you won't be able to install W7 because Microsoft has removed all the downloads to it.

If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on the Windows 7 COA label on the notebook's case (please do not post the Windows product key), you can see if this works:

Make a bootable W10 USB installer with the media creation tool from the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Boot from the USB installation media and when you get to the part where you have to select what version of W10 you want to install, select the version of W10 the W7 product key is good for (Home or Pro).

Then when you get to the part that asks you to enter the product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install.

If someone had previously upgraded the notebook to W10, then it should be activated.

If W10 is not activated, try activating it by entering the 25-character W7 product key on your PC's case, and hopefully that will work.

If you cannot read the product key, unfortunately, you will have to purchase a supported version of Windows 64 bit and a product key.

Hi:

Enter your notebook's serial number in the search window at the link below, and it should tell you what operating system it originally came with.

Then let me know what you find out.
