Hi @Dee73053,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reaching out! If BitLocker was disabled during troubleshooting and you're now unable to re-enable it on your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15t-eg0000 CTO running Windows 11, here’s how to get it working again:
Step-by-Step: Re-enable BitLocker Encryption
1. Check if Your Device Supports BitLocker
- Press Windows + S, type System Information, and open it.
- Look for “Device Encryption Support”.
- If it says “Meets prerequisites”, you're good to go.
- If not, your device may lack TPM or Secure Boot settings.
2. Enable TPM and Secure Boot in BIOS
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Go to Security > TPM Configuration and ensure TPM is enabled.
- Under Boot Options, make sure Secure Boot is enabled.
- Save and exit.
3. Turn On BitLocker
- Press Windows + S, type Manage BitLocker, and open it.
- Click Turn on BitLocker next to your system drive (usually C:).
- Follow the prompts to:
- Save your recovery key (Microsoft account, USB, or print).
- Choose encryption mode (new or compatible).
- Start encryption.
4. If BitLocker Option Is Missing
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Device Encryption.
- If available, turn it on.
- If not visible, open Control Panel > BitLocker Drive Encryption.
- Still missing? You may need to:
- Reinstall BitLocker components via Windows Features.
- Or run this command in PowerShell (Admin): Enable-BitLocker -MountPoint "C:" -EncryptionMethod XtsAes128 -UsedSpaceOnly
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
