MY HP Pavilion dv6500 had Roxio 9 basic preinstalled*. Now I have done a clean install of Win 10 64 bit, is there a way to find the setup file and reinstall Roxio Creator 9 basic? I asked Roxio and they can't help. I also checked on the HP recovery partition and although the recovery folder has a size of more than a gigabyte the folder appears empty (even when enabling to view hidden files). Does HP have a place to redownload this software?
Your advice would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Chris

Hi, @Chris_8318
The Roxio Creator 9 Basic software is on that driver site is just a patch.
You would need the full version installed in order for the patch to work.
I have a dv6700 and saved the installation files from my PC many years ago.
The dv6700 uses the Cyberlink DVD burning software.
All software and drivers for the dv6500 and newer models were only written for Windows Vista.
I have zipped up the file, uploaded it to my skydrive folder and shared the link to it with you below.
https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApMb5dJXSS-Dggen6t_Lt2eggvfZ?e=dvHS61
Download, unzip and run the setup application from the file labeled CyberDVD.
This file may also install the DVD playing software but I can't say for sure.

The last OS that HP supported on this model was Vista and they have since taken down the support page.
All I can find at this point is this page -- and since this is NOT an HP page, you use it at your own risk: http://hpnotebookdrivers.com/hp-pavilion-dv6500-cto-entertainment-notebook-pc-windows-vista-64-bit-d...
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

Thank you Chris and Paul. I appreciate the help. Its a shame that HP do not support downloads for their older laptops.
Windows 10 Home 64 bit updated all the drivers automatically on this old machine and its purring along just fine.
Paul, I have downloaded the zip file and will see how I will get on with Windows 10 64 bit.
Thanks again for all your help.
Kind regards
Chris

Just to let you know that Roxio Creator 9 basic installed just fine. The server was not able to register such old software; evidently registration is optional anyway. I tried the patch from the other site but it would not install with the error, "could not find a qualifying product". I don't know if this version requireds a patch. Thanks again for all your help.
Kind regards
Chris
