Every HP computer I get comes with McAfee AV and I immediately uninstall it -- I have found it always conflicts so that it takes up to 60 seconds for one key stroke to appear. Should be an easy fix. However, I regularly get pop-up "ads" telling me I need some sort of McAfee product, beware, etc.
I do not want to deal with these pop-ups anymore. I don't have the software and can't see any other McAfee product to uninstall. How do i get rid of these annoying ads? And I am not willing to reinstall Windows, do major rewriting, etc. I am not a computer tech and it seems crazy that I should have to spend hours tracking this down to stop built-in advertising.
I'm hoping HP provides an easy fix to this, since they so generously provided the problem lol. Thanks!

Thank you for the link. I have already uninstalled and the program doesn't show in my System > Apps list. However, I'm still getting the pop-up ads asking me to upgrade or buy new software from them. I can't figure out where it's coming from.
