HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-4000i (6V9A5AV)

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an ongoing issue with HP Support Assistant repeatedly recommending the installation of an outdated Realtek RTL8xxx Series Bluetooth driver, SoftPaq number sp153275. The offered version is 1.10.1061.3021, but I currently have a newer version installed: 18.4017.2412.2303 (installed Jan 7, 2025).

The update keeps reappearing in Support Assistant even after successful installation attempts and dismissal. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the latest HP Support Assistant 9, but the same driver continues to be offered. According to the update description, it’s labeled as DCHU-compatible for Windows 10/11, but the version mismatch suggests it may not be appropriate for my system.

Bluetooth functionality is working fine, so it seems like the older driver is being prioritized for compatibility or certification reasons — possibly ignoring newer releases that came through Windows Update or Realtek directly.

Is there a confirmed way to permanently dismiss this update or stop Support Assistant from continuing to offer it? I'd also welcome any guidance from HP moderators on whether this SoftPaq can be flagged as superseded or mismatched.

Thanks in advance!

@ajh1000, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Could you confirm if the driver was downloaded from the official HP website? From what I see, the only available driver is sp153187.exe, version 6.0.9611.1 Rev.C, released on May 30, 2024.

I recommend downloading the driver that HP Support Assistant is notifying you about. However, if you're not experiencing any issues with the currently installed driver, you can safely ignore the update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
